We purchased the property in Laurel Valley about 16 years ago, dreaming someday of building a mountain home. A few years after the property was purchased we began to lay out the interior. Then in the fall of 2017 our dream became a reality, our vacation home was completed and we began filling it with antiques.

There was a dedication of "Townsend Sunrise Dream" during the construction, before the sheet rock, nickel-gap or flooring was installed, we asked our daughters and families to bring some favorite bible verses to write inside the house. So on a fall afternoon in October, all the children scattered through out the house, with verses written on pieces of paper, and began to write their scripture on the wall studs, plywood flooring, and stairs. Those who could not write, had their hands traced next to a scripture their parents had written. Other children taped their verses to the walls. Also, for the dedication, our daughters and sons-in-law wrote special verses in the house.

Our daughters have enjoyed the house with their friends and extended family. For those families with children, the home is a place to be away, yet close to Knoxville, and spend a few days together, cooking, playing games, hiking, tubing and watching the children play.
